Kíla’s irrepressible frontman Rónán Ó’Snodaigh (Vox/Bodhrán/Guitar) teams up with the talented singer songwriter 'Mad Dog' Mick Molloy (Vox/Bodhrán/Guitar) and the traditional stylings of Bernie McDonagh(Tin Whistle) to bring you an unique show on the last thursday of every month. Bernie provides virtuoso tin whistle, Rónán serves up driving primal rhythms and vocal styles, while Mick delivers heartfelt songs for the disaffected post Celtic Tiger generation. Last month saw musicians from all over drop in and join in, so expect the unexpected, and come early to avoid disappointment!

With the success of their highly acclaimed debut album High Bright Morning, and their atmospheric and evocative live performances, Edinburgh’s Blueflint have built a strong reputation and following. Their much anticipated second album Maudy Tree promises to raise their profile even further. The sound of Blueflint is defined by the sublime close harmonies of Deborah Arnott and Clare Neilson whose voices, both ethereal and warm, interweave in ballads and songs of eerie melancholy and heartfelt charm. Mick McNamara presents his long-awaited debut solo album, comprising some of the many musicial genres (Irish Traditional, Folk, Blue Grass, Country) he has had the pleasure of preforming extensively worldwide. A long accustomed performer with many of the great Irish traditional musicians; Gerry ‘Banjo’ O’Connor, Patsy Watchorn (The Dubliners), Maurice Lennon & Kieran Hanrahan (Stockton’s Wing), Finbar Furey (The Fureys), and Paul Kelly (former ‘Fleadh Cowboys’), Mick’s soleful tones have delighted many audiences in all corners of the world. Mick has previously featured in many recordings and film/tv programmes.

 

Al has just finished a sold out German tour singing with The Dubliners. Ger Doyle and Mick Brennan Join Al onstage for this rare performance. The sound of the Portland, Oregon's Foghorn Trio could have come barreling through the grille-cloth of those big console radios in the living rooms of the 1950's, when the traditional sounds of rural America were still on the minds of young musicians transferring the old-time music to a distinctively modern age. Joined by Cobblestone regulars I Draw Slow, fresh off the back of their newly released Album Redhills, they have created a new sound, rooted in the old time style of the Appalachian Mountains, drawing on Irish traditional music and modern Americana.

Fresh from his appearance on RTE’s Radio 1 Arena, Brooklyn based, Cork born Niall Connolly, plays a special evening concert at the Cobblestone on May 11th. Connolly has clocked up over 250 performances in 12 countries in the last year. His new album, 'Brother, the Fight is Fixed' is fast becoming a cult favourite on both sides of the Atlantic.

 

Seven piece, violin driven folk rock band from Australia, The Wishing Well evoke an extraordinary gamut of emotions with their compelling and awe- inspiring arrangements spun around magnificently poetic lyrics. A cacophony of three part harmonies, wistful violins, oceanic cello and majestic rhythms all melded to achingly strong and haunting vocals.
