Description:
One of Dublin's newest venues, scheduled to open in March 2010 in the very impressive Grand Canal Square, which looks more Shanghai than Dublin. Another Live Nation venue, which is a shame, the venue will have a capacity for a whopping 2,100 people. The architect behind the project is Daniel Libeskind, and to his credit he's created something of enormous beauty - we're looking forward to checking-out the acoustics and interior. On the cards are musicals, operas, drama, ballet, "family shows", and classical gigs.Location: Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2

Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan. As the curtain opens, a stream of rice drizzles onto the head of an Asian monk. Tonnes of golden grains ricochet and rain down to form an ever changing landscape through which some 20 extraordinary Cloud Gate dancers (trained in chi kung, meditation, internal martial arts, modern dance, ballet, and calligraphy) move. Set to soulful Georgian folk songs of the Rustavi Choir, this visually sensational production has enthralled audiences worldwide.
