The Village [Bar]

Description:

Closely tied to the neighbouring Whelan's venue, the two often swap gigs if they've double-booked, or if the ticket sales are less (or more) than expected. Where Whelan's is a beauty of a venue, The Village doesn't convince. The area in front of the stage isn't wide enough to accommodate the masses, and there tends to be no space for elbows and pints. Coupled with a questionable sound system, it's very much the ugly sister in terms of sounds and visibility. That aside, the bar area is attractive and comfortable and downstairs there are quality DJ sessions on occasion from some of Ireland's better spinmeisters.
